After a heated argument, a young couple splits apart — he storms out, she retreats to bed. But when a tornado tears through the sky, everything changes.
Spotting the twister from the road, he races back to check on her. She sleeps through his calls. With time running out, he breaks down the door and wakes her just in time.
As the storm approaches, they shelter in the basement — shaken, silent, distant. But as the lights flicker and the house rattles, they finally close the space between them.
The band wanted an emotionally intense Music Film, with the scale of a natural disaster to match the weight of their new track. From there, the possibilities were endless.
Tornadoes have always fascinated and unsettled me — their unstoppable force, the way they tear through everything in their path. This project gave me the perfect chance to explore that fear through a deeply human story: a couple, mid-argument, forced to set aside their differences to survive the storm.
Despite limited resources, we went all in. I storyboarded a narrative that plays out across two key locations — an intimate home interior where the emotional tension unfolds, and wide open country roads where the storm closes in.
I love filming car scenes, and this film gave me an exciting opportunity to push that passion. As the actor’s vehicle sped through county roads, I followed closely in a camera car, capturing the high-speed sequence with cinematic flair. That kinetic energy contrasts with the quiet intensity of the house scenes where most of the drama takes place.
The film escalates through grounded performances and cinematic VFX, with the tornado looming closer in every frame. For the climax, the entire crew physically shook the set — sending debris flying, knocking over lamps, and turning a small room into a storm-rattled shelter. It was chaotic, exhausting, and worth every second.
The band’s performance was shot in a single, striking location: an open field beneath a lone tree, storm clouds raging in the distance. Like the story’s couple, they’re fully exposed — vulnerable to the elements, emotionally and physically.
Limitless is all about perspective. Life can change in an instant. Sometimes it takes a disaster to remember what really matters.
